Wedding Photography and Videography FAQs: What Couples Ask Us Most

As part of our wedding photography and videography FAQs, couples often ask about…

What is Your Filming and Editing Style?

Our filming and editing style is cinematic and romantic. We ensure the final product captures the happy and vibrant memories of your wedding day.

How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer or videographer?

Most couples book 12-18 months in advance, especially for summer dates. Some last-minute dates may be available, but early booking secures your preferred team.

What’s included in your wedding photography and videography packages?

All packages include a pre-wedding consultation, high-res edited images, cinematic highlight films (if video), and online gallery delivery. Full breakdown on our wedding packages page

What is your booking process?

Our booking process begins with a Google Meet/Zoom call or in-person meeting to understand your requirements. After agreeing on the details, a contract is sent, followed by an invoice. A £500 deposit is required to secure the date, or £700 for both photo and video packages. The final payment is due 4 weeks before the event. We accept credit card payments and offer payment plans.

Do You Work with a Team, and How Many Videographers Will Be Present on Our Wedding Day?

The team size depends on your package. We have a trusted lineup of photographers and videographers. Adding a second or third photographer ensures no moment is missed, capturing different angles and candid shots throughout the day.

Can we customise our wedding photography and videography package?

Yes. Every couple’s needs are unique. We offer bespoke coverage, extra hours, second shooters, albums, and more. Get in touch for a tailored quote.

Do You Cover More Than One Wedding a Day?

Xiarm Films & Photography has a team of highly skilled associate videographers and photographers. We can cover more than one wedding a day. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

What happens if our photographer or videographer is sick on the day?

We have backup professionals on call, so you’re always covered. Our network ensures no one is ever left stranded on their wedding day.

Can you recommend wedding suppliers or venues?

Absolutely. We regularly work with top venues and suppliers and are happy to share trusted recommendations.

Do you provide raw photos and videos?

At Xiarm Films & Photography, we take great pride in delivering fully edited, high-quality images and films that reflect the beauty and emotion of your special day. For this reason, we do not provide raw photos or unedited video footage.

However, if you choose our Luxury Videography Package, we include the raw recordings of your ceremony and speeches alongside your professionally edited wedding film. This ensures you have the full, unfiltered moments while still receiving a polished final product.

We’re not models... will you help us pose?

Absolutely! and don’t worry, I’ve got you. My style is editorial and modern, which means I’ll guide you in a way that feels natural, stylish, and never stiff or cheesy.

I’ll gently direct you so you know what to do with your hands, where to look, and how to interact with each other, but it’ll never feel like you’re being overly posed. My goal is to bring out your connection in the most effortless, flattering way possible.

Even my shyest couples end up saying how fun and relaxed it felt. I create a space where you can just be yourselves, while I subtly guide you to look incredible.

And yes, this approach works seamlessly for both photography and video, so everything flows beautifully on the day.

Should we have an engagement shoot?

Yes! an engagement shoot is such a great way to ease into the experience of being in front of the camera before your wedding day.

It gives us a chance to work together in a relaxed setting with no time pressure, so you can get comfortable with my shooting style, the gentle direction I give, and just being yourselves in front of the lens. Most couples tell me it really helped calm their nerves and boosted their confidence before the big day.

Plus, you’ll walk away with a beautiful set of images that reflect this exciting chapter of your journey, perfect for save-the dates, your wedding website, or simply to treasure.

Think of it as a fun, pressure-free dress rehearsal for your wedding portraits, with a little extra sparkle.

Do you visit the venue before the wedding?

Yes! if I haven’t worked at your venue before and it’s based in the UK, I always make a point to visit around a month or two before your big day.

During the visit, I scout out the best photo and video spots, study how the light moves through the space, and get a feel for the venue’s layout and vibe. If time allows, I’ll also take a few test shots, especially if I can visit around the same time your ceremony or key moments will be happening.

It’s all part of making sure I’m fully prepped to capture your day as beautifully and seamlessly as possible.

Do we need to sign a contract for wedding photography and videography?

Yes, absolutely. A contract protects both you and us, outlining expectations, delivery timelines, and payment terms. For general wedding legal guidelines, you can refer to the UK Government’s official marriage documentation.

What equipment do you use?

I use a combination of Canon and Sony mirrorless cameras to ensure stunning image quality and flexibility across different lighting situations. For audio, I rely on DJI microphones to capture crystal-clear sound, especially during your vows and speeches.

For smooth, cinematic video, I use the DJI RS4 Pro gimbal—and for those breathtaking aerial shots, I fly the DJI Mavic 3 Pro drone (where venue permissions and weather allow, of course!)

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured with public liability insurance.

Who Owns The Copyright?

As your photographer, I retain full copyright of the images that’s standard across the industry. However, you’ll receive a personal license to use your photos however you wish: share them online, print them for your walls, or create keepsakes to treasure forever.

The only limitation? The images can’t be used for commercial purposes without my permission. So if OK! Magazine comes knocking… let’s chat first. 😉

Do you travel?

Yes, we travel throughout the UK and internationally. Travel fees apply for destination weddings and events more than 2 hours away.
